Workshops in Rust Paper Dyeing, leather Bound Bookbinding, Basketry, Create a Paper Lantern, Pottery, Colour & Painting, are on offer. While Demonstrations of art materials involving watch and play are also on offer. There is something for everyone of every age. Check the studio guide and website for full details of each offered activity and booking details.

All artists are creating works of art for sale. Here is your chance to acquire an original artwork while supporting local artists and galleries.

We have a diverse and creative group of artists creating. You will see and experience paintings, drawings, mixed media, basketry, textiles, printmaking, woodworking, photography, sculpture, pottery, works on paper, artist books, silk scarves; all original, unique and collectable

All participating artists are local practicing artists in our 4017 or local area. Some studios are pop ups for the two weekends as artist could not provide adequate access to their existing studios, but each will present what happens in an artist studio. Check the Studio Guide for detailed artist bios and statements about what they create.

How do I find the different Studios?2021-10-01T16:57:05+10:00

You can use the map as a starting point for suburb locations and approximate locations of each studio. Then using a GPS or Google maps put in the individual address of the studio to guide you to the studio. On google maps if you search 4017 Bayside Open Studios the full tour will pop open.

Each studio will have an Open Studio Feather Flag flying and locator sign so you know you have arrived at the correct place.

Where can I pick up a printed studio guide?2021-10-01T16:56:47+10:00

Guides are available from every participating studio, local councillors’ offices in Deagon and Bracken Ridge ward, Arthouse Northsides Art Supplies, Art Shed in West End, Judith Wright Arts Centre in the Valley, Eckersley’s Art Supplies in Valley, Redcliffe Old Fire Station Gallery, Moreton Bay Regional Tourist centres in Clontarf and Strathpine.

Visiting the studios is entirely FREE. Workshops do incur a fee to cover the costs of materials, tutor etc. Demonstrations vary from FREE to small cost for material use.

It is more than a trail, but a unique experience and opportunity to see behind the scenes of how artists create and make their art, hear their art journeys, and perhaps participate in their processes and techniques

Open studios has been curated to embrace the uniqueness of the beautiful 4017 bayside area and is a self-guided tour where a printed/digital map will be available to visit local artists in their studios that are no more than 10 minutes’ drive from each other. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or art collector, you can enjoy this rare opportunity to not only see behind the scenes but to speak to and support local artists while acquiring original artwork.
