MISSION STATEMENT

4017 Bayside Open Studios showcases artists & their studios/galleries in their own creative environments or shared maker spaces within the 4017 suburbs of Sandgate, Shorncliffe, Deagon, Brighton, and Bracken Ridge areas. It presents a unique opportunity for artists’ makers and creators to display their artworks, inform visitors, and demonstrate what they create providing a rare opportunity to see behind the scenes and speak to and support local artists while acquiring local art.

To facilitate the smooth operation of 4017 Bayside Open Studios, each participating artist is asked to contribute to the 4017 Bayside Open Studios by supporting the committee members responsible for the below subcommittees in various tasks: Please indicate areas that you can assist in. You may help in more than one area. Please add any specific areas you are skilled or interested in e.g., ‘know how to use Photoshop’:

Image Requirements:

Your application will not be considered confirmed until images are received. These images will be for the publication of the Studio Guide, and therefore must be of the highest quality for print. If you have problems with this, please contact Grace at the above email for assistance.

You must provide a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 images.

The images you provide will potentially be published in the studio guide, on social media and other publications, so you need to ensure that they are the best quality possible.

One image must include a head shot of the artist in their studio, with one of their artworks or creating art.

The artwork images supplied must be a good representation of what you are currently creating but does not necessarily need to be displayed or for sale at Open Studios.

Artists who were part of Open Studios in 2022 may opt to include the image of themselves taken by Paul Neil in place of the required headshot above. Please advise us of this choice.

Professionally taken images of your art is best practice (Arthouse Reproductions is a good example) however if this is not possible, consider light, perspective, take the photo square on without a background.

Images must be 300DPI and can be up to 3MB in size.

Images will be accepted in the following formats only: .jpg, .tiff, .png, .PSD

Please save your image filenames so that it reads:
your surname
title of artwork
number of image
eg. King_Daisies_1

If you have a common or similar surname to someone else, please include your first initial in the file name, e.g. Russell_A_Tree_1

Payment Details:

Artists who have not made their payments by the deadline of 30 June 2023 will not be participating in the Open Studios Event.
